Communication and Language Therapy

Communication and language therapy is tailored to address challenges in respect to articulation, word structure and use of language as identified with children diagnosed with underlying developmental disorders that usually impair ability to appropriately interact within the environment using speech, language and communication.

Examples of developmental delays that may create challenges in language and communication include:

  • Autism
  • Down syndrome
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
  • Specific language impairment
  • Global development delay

At Little Beginnings Academy, we provide communication and language therapy services to children and adolescents. Our team of communication and language therapists offers specialized services which include: multidisciplinary assessments, developing an individualised plan of intervention that will form a part of the child’s overall Individualised Education Plan (IEP), and provide appropriate counseling to parents. Our therapeutic model is designed such that we cater to children and adolescents (1-17 yrs) who have difficulties in any aspects of communication and language.

  • These include:

    • Understanding (receptive language)
    • Expressive Language
    • Memory and concentration
    • Emotional regulation
    • Social skills
    • Play
    • Conversational skills
    • Generalization of communication skills acquired.

In as much as we work with children, we also interface and work with the people in their lives to make sure they are supported in all areas where their communication skills can be improved. These may include parents, caregivers, other family members and schools.
